Some things I have recorded/mixed that you can buy!

I just realised I've been banging on about my remixes so much that I have failed to mention some great records that are coming your way! Records that I happened to have a hand in making. We're just in time for this first one...

Napoleon IIIrd's album "Christiania" is out TODAY and it's really quite remarkable. Entirely and painstakingly composed and put together by Napoleon at home in Holmfirth, he then decamped to Dreamtrak for a week in the summer where we recorded some overdubs with Sky Larkin and the legendary Cosmic Seb (Braindead Collective), iced the cakes, and mixed/mastered it all to perfection.

Listen to the first single "The Unknown Unknown":

You can read all about the album and order the physical mega gift pack at Brainlove Records, or of course it's on all those places like iTunes, Amazon and so on. GET IT NOW before you don't know what anyone is talking about when they talk about it.

Zun Zun Egui's second EP "Kass To La Sènn" is out on 6th Dec and was recorded by myself, a marvellous chap called Norris and the band at Alma Vale Studio in Bristol - then mixed by me at Dreamtrak. That was ages ago - but now you can get it, at last! Have a listen to one of the tracks at their myspace (because myspace's new embed player doesn't work, surprise surprise), and while you're listening, pre-order the 12" from norman records... and then have a look at us recording it here:

Jam On Bread's album was recorded and mixed in a day at Dreamtrak, and the deluxe CD edition includes my remix of "Let Jason Donovan Do The Talking"! You can pre-order that from Team Strike Force HERE or get the downloads off iTunes or Amazon etc!

Hear "Let Jason Donovan Do The Talking" in session at Dreamtrak below (somehow we managed to fit this in on the same day we recorded the album....!)

Jam On Bread - Jason Donovan

Also incase you missed it, I recorded and mixed another B-side for Foals - "The Forked Road" was on the 7" of "Miami" which you can get at the Foals shop HERE.

Here's a video of us recording it at their house in Oxford.

some stellar youtube user comments on that one.

phew, what a lot of CONTENT that was huh?

You can read a slightly-out-of-date page of info about Dreamtrak Studios HERE (will update soon promise)

Tracasseur!!!

I absolutely love Tracasseur - I pretty much wouldn't have a clue what's going on without it - and so it was amazing that they did a huge post on me! There's 3 exclusive remixes on here - one for cocknbullkid, and one for James Yuill (both Moshi Moshi artists) and one for my good friend nervous_testpilot - plus reups of Teeth, Internet Forever, Sky Larkin and Diskjokke!

In other Moshi Moshi news, my remix for Silver Columns will be featured on a new remix EP, as announced here at God Is In the TV.

:D :D :D

The original "Still Windmills" is on Sky Larkin's ace new album Kaleide, which you can stream and then buy in all manner of amazing formats HERE!

NEWS UPDATE!

Forthcoming remixes for... Sky Larkin, James Yuill, Sparkadia, cocknbullkid, Foreign Office and a couple of others in the pipeline, all of which you will hear soon!

I recently spent a week with Napoleon IIIrd mixing his new album "Christiania" - it's totally amazing, and you can hear an exclusive track from it on this ace Brainlove mixtape thing. (I mixed 1, 3, 4 and 5 by the way :D)

There are 2 new David G Cox songs which are finished and ready to go!

Other than that, there are not 1 - not 2 - but 3 count them 3 projects that are really exciting, but I can't tell you anything about them. Yet...

OH AND IN GIG NEWS:::

21st Sept - David G Cox at The Social (with We Aeronauts)

25th Sept - A Scholar and A Physician at Buffalo Bar (with Applicants)

Oh, and, P.S., I've started posting tracks I like on the DREAMTRAK facebook page, so have a look at that :D

recording Foals

it looked a bit like this!

recording The Forked Road

but with less contrast obvs.

'The Forked Road' is the B-side on '7" B' of Foals' ace new single 'Miami', which is out this week - get it here!

download the DREAMTRAK TEETH remix!

Hi!

My remix of 'See Spaces' by TEETH is available to download!

First up on Snipe, which is an awesome culture newspaper - it's not only great on the internet, but also available everywhere on an actual thing called paper! Amazing. The remix is on their Soundcloud page where it's had over 450 plays in the last 4 hours... :O

They say "His refined sensibility is put to great use here, slowly building the intensity into a euphoric blowout that sounds something like The Knife turned up to eleven." :D :D

The mix is also up on High Voltage, and they very kindly say "This remix comes from Dreamtrak, who can count Gaggle, Foals and, another HV fave, Internet Forever amongst their CV. You might say these acts are somewhat unremixable, yet Dreamtrak's background in recording and mixing for the likes of Zun Zun Egui and Youthmovies shows an ability to pick melodies and enhance them."

and they also give the label a mention - "the italo-disco flavoured 'Meltdown' by Valerio Loveland, points to the inspiration behind 'See Spaces' blissed out balearic feel"

You can buy the Valerio Loveland 12" HERE or get it from iTunes or eMusic or Amazon.

Great!

Poptastic!

Love this band and the song - it was an honour to remix it. I'm doing an alternative, more cosmic version of this which will be completed soon.. and remixing a whole bunch of other exciting stuff too so keep an eye out :D

new (plural)

Just got back from Dundee with A Scholar and A Physician - we were working with Chicks On Speed in preparation for their exhibition at the DCA, which runs from now until 8th August.

Steve and I did a bunch of soundtrack and effects work for the video projections, and then appeared live during the opening performance, playing some custom synths built into cigar boxes that CoS created. It was ace! You can read more about the preparations at the CoS blog.

Also I'm doing some exciting DREAMTRAK remixes at the moment - just finished TEETH and Pagan Wanderer Lu so hopefully you can hear those soooon, and about to start work on mixes for Silver Columns and Bodebrixen! I updated the clunky dinosaur that is myspace so you can hear some, but also there's also some up on the fb fan page in a much prettier soundcloud player.

Next up I'm recording some new tracks with Foals, which, all being well, will end up as B-sides to forthcoming singles. I'll try and keep you posted as it's happening, if I get a spare moment inbetween recording and sleeping that is.

very catchy

Stairs To Korea AND ME live at Dreamtrak!

A non-canonical but seriously excellent Dreamtrak Session with Stairs To Korea.

I am playing the Yamaha PSS 680, my first ever keyboard. It's pretty good, you can record 5 different melodies and play them back at any time and speed, reprogram the drum rhythms (1 memory) and even edit the 2-op FM synth and save 5 patches! It's probably responsible for everything since.

We were both sad that I had left my BOY cap and sunglasses at home.

keeping you all informed fail

Christ, is that February? Sorry if you've missed out on the news. I've been so busy I haven't even generated any content for the whole of January.

January news - new Stairs To Korea song in the bag! New A Scholar and A Physician tracks for forthcoming single! New ddd - ace studio-as-instrument stuff happening! Yesterday recorded the entire Jam On Bread album in a day, and it's brilliant! I hope you get to hear it soon. Then today I finished the mastering on Applicants' forthcoming album which is totally mega beyond belief.

Forthcoming DREAMTRAK DIAMOND SESSSIONS from Rolande Throon, Jam On Bread and the amazing Bodebrixen so keep your eyes peeled!
